Pittsburgh - Sept. 12 - The PIAA is going to strictly enforce the NFHS rules in the spring. This includes the uniform rules. In the past the WPSLA had made an exception to the rules and not enforced the uniform rules. Here they are:

Numbers: Centered
Front: at least 8 inches
Back: at least 12 inches

The WPIAL is going to send out a notice to all athletic directors that the uniforms must comply by this spring; however, if a school can not comply this spring the Athletic Director or Head of School may write a letter to the Head of the PIAA requesting an exemption from this rule for next season. This will buy the school some additional time to comply.

If we have member teams that know their uniforms do not comply they should immediately notify their AD's to inform them.
